Hypocrisy of the Rich II

I simply expressed yesterday an opinion and I still stand by it.

While giving away free stuff for a while is and must be appreciated, not everyone who does it is a philanthropist. Like many other Udemy instructors, I give away free courses periodically simply because I try to monetize and gain paying subscribers on the other side. Facebook or Google have their own business model built on free stuff, because they capitalize on advertising in other areas.

The same way this dude I wrote about, Zach Wilson, is not at all Mother Theresa — what he claimed and still claims to be sometimes. He made $2M with his $2K course first. Then he tried to monetize it on YouTube, but it didn’t work. And he turned against YouTube and his freeloaders, like a petty individual. Hence the hypocrisy.

The dude reposted yesterday my short LinkedIn article, and of course this created some fuss for a while. He wrote me in private as well, and looks like we both gained some followers (“People love drama” — his words).

Beyond this, however, I’ll simply write down some other conclusions and move on:

  • Nobody cares, most people leave comments like sheep, it’s simply a zoo.
