Would you pay $375 US for a SnowPro Advanced Certification?
I passed five out of the six SnowPro certification exams (see the image). I already left two to expire, and I lost interest in going to the SnowPro Administrator exam.
As I am frequently asked by students on Udemy and other people if it is worth paying $375 US out of your pocket for such a certification, my straight and clear answer will be NO.
And I simply try to be honest here, and come up with some proper good advice.
They are Super-Expensive
I knew of only one other similar professional certification in the data engineering field as expensive as those. The Kubernetes Developer or Administrator certification exams were also valued at $375 US a while ago, for just an attempt. I was about to go for them at some point in life, but also because my employer at that moment was prepared to reimburse me (not after some fight! ;)). And, if you ask me now, I still find the acquired knowledge from the preparation for Kubernetes more valuable than any advanced certification in Snowflake.
I paid out of my pocket only for the SnowPro Core exam, as I was interviewing years ago for a position with 2–3 companies partnering with Snowflake. But even that basic certification was not a requirement for the job. When they came up studently with…
