I wrote yesterday about this “Major Account Executive” as Snowflake who “celebrates” a bit too much on LinkedIn passing some just very basic online introductory courses. And this deserves more attention…

Are they all singing Kumbaya at Snowflake?

The guy is a new hire. But look at the number of Likes already. Most of them come from these new colleagues at Snowflake!

So this kind of ridiculous basic “achievement” must be in the company culture.

Is in the company’s culture to ridicule themselves?

Most of them are indeed salesmen. And mere technical “certifications” like these could be — who knows — very great achievement for them. But nobody tells them that they ridicule themselves with this as well?

Thanks God my students on Udemy don’t do this. Because Udemy issues also similar “certifications” at the end of each courses. But it would be embarrassing to see people venting online just because they finished a course.

Is this to promote their courses on Coursera?
