Free speech is NOT hate speech (and why you should stop this non-sense)
I rarely get into political or social debates — especially on this blog of mine — but I see everywhere this non-sense and I simply need to make some hopefully valid points.

A lot of people are frustrated since Musk “destroyed” Twitter by promoting free speech. And I see everywhere “free speech” immediately connected with “hate speech”. In a very clear manner, to deny people access to information. Like “in the old times” (i.e. a few years ago), when for a while only 4–5 huge corporations and a bunch of selected individuals decided what people should say and think about.
Knives can kill people, let’s prohibit knives.
Of course that free speech could also make some people or groups take advantage. And say anything. Including spreading hate. But do you stop drinking coffee because you may get burned?
And taking freedom away from people will never make you more popular, no matter why you do it for. You may get some limited approval in your echo chamber. But overall there will always be way more people turning the back on you. It is just natural and I still wonder how those coming up with that message may think this was a good idea.
